Gate37 is a project that aims to bring people with cross-cultural backgrounds together through creativity. We want to give them somewhere to call home. In the process of setting up the actual publishing house, we’ll be traveling all over the world in search of writers and other interesting people. The Flying Publisher is a web series that follows Nasri Atallah as he goes in search of Third Culture Kids wherever they happen to be.
From the backstreets of Beirut (Episode 1), where we’ll meet the neglected Ethiopian and Filipino immigrant communities thriving on the sidelines of Lebanese life, to the glamour, fakery and commerce of the Cannes Film Festival (Episode 2), The Flying Publisher will bring together improbable stories, that will hopefully end up published as ebooks, audiobooks or good old printed volumes.
